God answers prayers…
And He puts the prayers that He desires
in your heart.
About Me
When I first became really moved, and I mean really moved—in my heart and my mind and my soul—by the huge and unresolved growth of homelessness, right in the middle of our cities and seemingly everywhere, I started praying.
I prayed every day for a year and a half, petitioning God for the answers He wants put into place.
I knew wholeheartedly that we’re supposed to do something, but I didn’t know what to do. And I didn’t feel close enough to the problem of homelessness to know what the answers are.
In the way that only He can work things out, God brought me back to Nashville, where I grew up, at the end of that year and a half and led me to a homeless outreach center, where I felt my calling come into place.
I knew I was being called to stay in Nashville and to help the homeless here. To help the people who now had my heart as individuals, as real people I loved. And to help resolve the issue of homelessness by bringing the homeless back into homes.
God knows how to put His solutions into place, and I know many of us are willing to do the work.
First, it starts with sowing seeds.
And already, these seeds are starting to bear real fruit.
~ I’m a writer, and part of my gift is being able to tell the story of the homeless. I’m ready to let other people know that our homeless friends matter. I’m willing to let society know that we are meant to resolve the issues of homelessness in America today.
Thank you for keeping me and my work in your prayers!
In Your Name, Jesus. Amen.
